Terms of Use
Last updated 28 July 2026 · Effective 28 July 2026 · Version 1.0
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Deltra mobile application and the deltra.is website. Please read them before you use either. By signing in to the app or using the website, you agree to them.
In short
The Deltra app is a work tool issued to drivers and staff engaged by Deltra. You cannot register yourself — your account is created by our office, and it remains ours. While you are signed in, the app reports your vehicle's position to our operations desk and records the journeys you drive. Use the app safely and lawfully, keep your credentials to yourself, and never operate it while the vehicle is moving. These Terms are not a contract of employment or engagement; that is a separate agreement.
1. Who these terms are between
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and:
The provider
Deltra Taxi ehf. (trading as Deltra — Deluxe Transfers)
Registration number (kennitala): 660623-0860
Registered address: Kópubraut 9, 260 Reykjanesbær, Iceland
Telephone: +354 855 5545
Email: bokanir@deltra-taxi.is
In these terms, "Deltra", "we", "us" and "our" mean Deltra Taxi ehf. "You" and "your" mean the person using the app or the website. "App" means the Deltra mobile application for iOS and Android. "Site" means deltra.is and its sub-pages. "Service" means the App, the Site and the dispatch platform behind them, together.
2. What these terms cover
These terms govern your use of the App and the Site. They do not replace, and are subordinate to, any employment contract, driver agreement, subcontractor agreement or service agreement you have with Deltra. Where a term here conflicts with such an agreement, that agreement prevails as between you and Deltra.
Separate terms apply to the transport services we provide to clients. Those are agreed with the client at the time of booking and are not covered here.
3. Who may use the app
The App is provided solely to drivers and operations staff engaged by Deltra. It is not a consumer booking application and it has no function for members of the public. To use it you must:
- hold a current Deltra account issued by our office;
- be at least 18 years old;
- where you use it to drive, hold a valid driving licence and the personal operating licence required for the work; and
- use it only for Deltra business.
There is no self-registration. If you are not an authorised Deltra driver or member of staff, you have no right to use the App, and you should not attempt to sign in.
4. Accounts and credentials
- Your account is created, maintained and withdrawn by Deltra. It remains our property.
- Your credentials are personal to you. Do not share them, do not let anyone else sign in as you, and do not sign in on a device you do not control.
- Keep the details on your profile accurate and current — in particular your name, telephone number, station number and vehicle details, which appear on operational documents.
- Tell us immediately at bokanir@deltra-taxi.is if you believe your account has been used by someone else, or your device has been lost or stolen.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
A signed-in session expires after 7 days, after which you will be asked to sign in again.
5. Licence to use the app
Subject to these terms, Deltra grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use one copy of the App on a mobile device that you own or control, for the sole purpose of carrying out work for Deltra.
This licence does not permit you to:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or otherwise transfer the App or your account;
- remove or obscure any proprietary notice;
- use the App to build a competing product or service.
The App is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Deltra.
6. Location reporting and journey recording
Please read this section carefully
While you are signed in to the App, it reports your device's position to Deltra's operations desk approximately twice per second — including when the App is in the background, when your screen is locked, and when the App is closed. When you start a journey in the App, it also records the route you drive. Your position is shown on a fleet map to Deltra administrators. Signing out of the App stops both.
By using the App you acknowledge that:
- continuous location reporting is a core function of the App and the reason it exists;
- your position, speed and direction of travel are visible to Deltra operations staff holding an administrator role while you are signed in;
- the routes, distances, durations and speeds of journeys you record are stored and may be used to answer a client's query, to settle accounts, and to resolve a dispute about what happened on a particular day;
- Android will display a permanent notification, and iOS the system location indicator, whenever the App is using location in the background — these are deliberate and must not be suppressed;
- you can withdraw the location permission or sign out at any time. If you do, the App will no longer report your position or record routes, and you should expect to discuss the operational consequences with our desk.
Full detail of what is collected, who sees it, how long it is kept and your rights is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Positions and journey records are produced by consumer GPS hardware and are approximate. Deltra does not present them as a definitive record of speed or position for any legal purpose, and neither should you.
7. How you must use the app
You agree that you will:
- use the App honestly, and record the start and end of each journey accurately;
- respond to job assignments promptly and truthfully;
- treat passenger information you see in the App as confidential — names, flight details, movements and notes are private to the client and must not be repeated, photographed, published or shared, including on social media;
- upload only photographs of yourself and of your own vehicle, and not images of any other person;
- keep the App updated to a supported version.
You agree that you will not:
- falsify a position, a journey, a distance or a time, or attempt to interfere with location reporting by any means including mock-location tools;
- attempt to access another user's data, the fleet map, or any function your role does not grant you;
- probe, scan, overload or attempt to breach the security of our systems;
- use automated means to access the Service, or connect to our API with anything other than the official App;
- extract, copy or retain client, passenger or driver data beyond what your work requires;
- use the App for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable transport, employment, data protection or road traffic law.
8. Safety and road traffic law
Do not use the app while driving
Article 57 of the Icelandic Traffic Act No. 77/2019 prohibits a driver from using a mobile telephone, smart device or other electronic equipment that may distract from driving, without hands-free equipment. Accept, start and end journeys while stationary and safely parked. If the App and safe driving ever conflict, safe driving wins — no assignment, notification or timer in the App is worth a moment's attention on the road.
You remain solely responsible for the safe and lawful operation of your vehicle. Deltra accepts no liability for any incident arising from your use of a device while driving. Map data and any routing shown in the App are for orientation only; they are supplied by a third party, may be out of date or incorrect, and do not relieve you of the duty to observe road signs, road conditions and traffic law.
9. Your device, data and costs
- You are responsible for the device you use, for keeping its operating system supported, and for its security (screen lock, up-to-date software).
- The App requires a mobile data connection. Any mobile data, roaming and battery costs are yours unless your agreement with Deltra says otherwise. Continuous location reporting uses battery.
- You must comply with the terms of your own mobile network operator; using the App does not exempt you from them.
- The App may not function correctly on a jailbroken or rooted device, and we do not support it in that state.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. It depends on mobile networks, third-party map and notification providers, and our hosting provider, none of which we control. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, and will try to do so outside operating hours where possible.
We may add, change or remove features at any time. If a change materially reduces what the App does for you, we will tell drivers and staff in advance where we reasonably can.
11. Intellectual property
The App, the Site, the dispatch platform, their source code, design, layout, text, graphics, the Deltra name and logo, and all related intellectual property are owned by Deltra or its licensors and are protected by Icelandic and international law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you.
You keep ownership of photographs you upload. By uploading a photograph you grant Deltra a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and use it within the Service and on operational documents — for example, your profile photograph in the fleet roster. We will not use your photograph for marketing without asking you first.
12. Third-party services
The App and the Site rely on services provided by others, including Mapbox for maps, Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple for push notification delivery, and Microsoft Azure for hosting. Your use of the App is also subject to those providers' terms where they apply to you. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services, and their content — for example map imagery — is theirs, not ours.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App immediately, without notice, if you breach these terms, if your engagement with Deltra ends, if we suspect your account has been compromised, or if we are required to do so by law.
You may stop using the App at any time by signing out and uninstalling it. To have your account and associated personal data deleted, follow the process in section 13 of our Privacy Policy.
Sections 11 (Intellectual property), 14 (Disclaimer), 15 (Limitation of liability) and 21 (Governing law) survive termination, along with any obligation of confidentiality.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App and the Site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that it will be available without interruption, that positions, distances, times or map data will be accurate, or that a push notification will always be delivered. Do not rely on a push notification alone to learn that work has been assigned to you; check the App.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under mandatory Icelandic or EEA consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deltra shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App or the Site — even if we have been advised that such loss might occur.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to [ISK 100,000] or, if greater, the total amount paid by you to Deltra for use of the App in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim (which, for a free application, is nil).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
16. Website terms and bookings
- The content of the Site is provided for general information. We try to keep it accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is.
- Prices, vehicle types and services shown on the Site are indicative. A booking is not confirmed until Deltra confirms it in writing, quoting a fixed rate for the journey. An enquiry or quote request is not a contract.
- You may view, download and print pages of the Site for your own use. You may not republish, sell or systematically extract Site content without our written permission.
- You must not use the Site in a way that damages it, interferes with another person's use of it, or involves automated scraping. Submitting an enquiry form repeatedly or by automated means is prohibited and may be blocked.
- Where we link to another website, we do so for convenience and do not endorse or accept responsibility for its content.
17. Additional terms for Apple App Store users
The following applies if you obtained the App from the Apple App Store. It is required by Apple, and in the event of a conflict with the rest of these terms, this section prevails as regards Apple.
- Acknowledgement. These terms are concluded between you and Deltra Taxi ehf. only, and not with Apple Inc. Deltra, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Scope of licence. The licence granted to you in section 5 is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Maintenance and support. Deltra is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services.
- Warranty. Deltra is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you (the App is free of charge, so any such refund is nil). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
- Product claims. Deltra, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property rights. If a third party claims that the App infringes its intellectual property rights, Deltra, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer name and address. Questions, complaints and claims about the App should be directed to Deltra Taxi ehf., Kópubraut 9, 260 Reykjanesbær, Iceland; telephone +354 855 5545; email bokanir@deltra-taxi.is.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App — for example, your wireless data service agreement.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and upon your acceptance of them Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
18. Additional terms for Google Play users
If you obtained the App from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the App. Any claim relating to the App should be directed to Deltra, not to Google.
19. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through the App and the Site, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It forms part of your agreement with us. Please read it — in particular the section on location data.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page and the current version always lives at https://deltra.is/terms. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give drivers and staff reasonable notice through the App or by email. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the App and contact us.
21. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the law of Iceland, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The District Court of Reykjavík (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur) shall have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you are a consumer resident in the EEA you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you retain the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country.
If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.
